Your first week
Comfora sells comfort insoles, not corrective orthotics, so there is no long adaptation programme to follow. Most people put them in and forget about them. This page is here for the minority who notice something in the first few days, and for the one mistake that causes most of it.
The mistake, first
Take your shoe's original insole out. CloudStep, LeatherLine, WarmStep, The Mile and LiftStep are full-length insoles designed to replace what is already in the shoe, not to sit on top of it. Leaving the original in reduces the room inside the shoe and pushes your foot upward. It is the most common reason a first week goes badly.
HeelHold is the exception. It is a three-quarter-length self-adhesive pad that sits on the existing footbed, so nothing comes out.
What is normal in the first few days
- Being aware of the insole. Something is in the shoe that was not there before.
- The shoe feeling slightly snugger, particularly with a thicker option like CloudStep.
- Mild fatigue in the foot at the end of a long day.
If the shoe feels too tight rather than merely snug, that is usually a volume problem, not an adjustment problem. LeatherLine is the slimmest of the full-length supports and is the one to try in a shoe with little room.
What is not normal, and when to stop
- Sharp or shooting pain
- Numbness or tingling
- Redness that has not faded twenty minutes after taking the shoes off
- Any break in the skin or a blister
- Pain that is getting worse rather than better
None of these are part of "breaking in" anything. Stop wearing them, take the insole out and, if the symptom persists, see a podiatrist or your doctor.
If you have diabetes or reduced sensation
Check your feet daily and read the medical disclaimer in full before you start. Reduced sensation means a pressure point can develop without you feeling it.
If it is still not right
Eligible unused items may be returned within 14 days under the published refund policy. A worn-product trial and free re-matching are not part of the current launch offer, so if you are unsure which support suits your shoes, use the fit quiz or the comparison table before you buy rather than after.
